Boss Fest was founded in 2014 when inviting my friends to come to me became more viable than me trying to travel the country to try and spend time with them to game. The idea was to hire a marquee and some toilets and organise a gaming weekend where everyone camped on site and played the games they wanted to with no schedule so they could play as much or as little as they wanted to.
Since the first Boss Fest in 2014, the event has grown in attendance, size of venue and the facilities have got better year on year, to the point that this year we had a 60ft marquee, with an inside dining area, Boss Minis trade stand and space for everyone to made at once.
The thing I was most proud of was that at one point on Saturday morning, there was 8 different game systems being played at the same time with many others being played throughout the weekend - they included:
Chain of Command
Kings of War
Final Fantasy TCG
Epic Spell Wars
The Walking Dead
Archer Card Game
I have plans for making Boss Fest 2018 bigger and better than ever with 2 marquees planned, 50 guests, organised as well as casual play and more varied catering options.
As always, I like to reward those that have supported previous Boss Fest events as well as customers of Boss Minis and will offer first refusal on places, but after this period, I will open places for general sale. If you like the look of Boss Fest and would like to attend next year, keep your eyes peeled for details of next years event in the new year!
For now, here are some images from this years Boss Fest.
Despite the sun staying up until 21:30, gaming carried on long into the night with this years improved lighting, most people didn't arrive at the camp fire until almost midnight!
Boss Minis went on the road to provide gamers with extra toys over the weekend.
