Boss Minis left the countryside and headed to the Excel in London to Salute on the 22nd April. It is the second time that I have been and I would say that it was consistent with last year. Arriving 20 minutes before the doors opened, there were already thousands of people ahead in the queue, but with a goodie bag handed out with a couple of miniatures and a show brochure to look through, the time passes fairly quickly.
With so many traders and demo games to take in, I headed around the outside, stopping at stands I had planned to pick things up from, before wandering around the central stands.
Most of my personal interest lies with Warlord Games' Bolt Action and Konflikt'47, and as such the rest of this article will cover what I saw on their stand - not all pictures are great due to figures being in glass cabinets.
Firstly, here are some images of the 3up greens of the plastic SS due for release later this year. The quality of these sculpts were great and should that transfer to the molds created, I am sure they will be a very popular kit.
Next up are some more images of Bolt Action releases due later this year. Firstly is a kit produced in collaboration with Italeri is the iconic King Tiger, ready to roll out against the allied forces. The second part shows an image of the plastic British Para kit due in June and allows them to be built as Polish as well as British troops. You can also see a new jeep and trailer as well as a new transport
Finally, here are some of the models due for release on 20th May to coincide with the launch of Operation Sea Lion. There is the feared British Union of Fascists (BUF) facing off against the Local Defense Volunteers (LDV) and experimental weapons for the Blacker Bombard and Smith gun....Feeling inspired? check back at Boss Minis soon and order your force, but be quick, the freedom of Britain depends on it!
I hope you enjoyed this short review of what to expect in the coming months from Warlord Games!
